In July of 2007 Chris surprised me with a trip. He told me what to pack and how long we would be gone. That’s it. A few hours later we arrived at Mackinac Island where he had reserved a beautiful room with a lake front view.
On our first morning there we rented two bikes and took off to explore the island. (The island is 90% nature preserve so motorized vehicles are prohibited.) Around noon we stopped at a little beach and Chris laid out a surprise picnic lunch. Just before we started packing up he told me he had another surprise for me and handed me a tiny little box wrapped with a bow. I opened it to find the engagement ring he had custom made for me. There on that beach he asked me to marry him.
The next morning as we were having breakfast on the beach we decided we would have a destination wedding.
When we started to talk about a location for the wedding we couldn't think of anything more amazing than getting married in the Riviera Maya. We fell in love with the area back in 2007 and we know you will too. More Info...
